Essen Light Festival 2025
For Essen Light Festival 2025, we brought the city’s wishes onto the facade of the Primark building. To open “Platz der Wünsche”, Kennedyplatz became a free rave with Moguai, a video installation by LUPIXX and lighting designed by Ollie Olma.
Richard Röhrhoff from Essen Marketing had introduced us to Moguai. Together, we came up with the idea of celebrating the opening with a rave right in the city centre. The starting point for our visuals came from the people of Essen: they were invited to submit their wishes to the festival. LUPIXX developed those wishes into a video installation for the building’s facade. LUPIXX & mo2 handled the entire planning process and on-site operating. Ollie’s lighting design extended into the square, while Moguai played a set that had the city shaking.
With great weather, people from across Essen turned out to celebrate on Kennedyplatz. These are the kinds of gatherings we want our work to make possible. Without sponsorship from Christie Lites, this evening would not have happened. Thank you, Casper, for seeing this through with the crazy Olmas!
