Live Augmented Reality

Live augmented reality for music shows, esports and gaming events, sports broadcasts, livestreams and brand productions. We design virtual scenery, objects and effects and integrate them into the live camera image.

Prepared for plug & play on site.

We create the AR content and plan the camera setup with your team. Camera and lens details are confirmed in advance, and we prepare the lens files before arriving on site.

From connection to rehearsals.

With the production infrastructure ready, we connect the system and allow around two hours for setup and calibration. Then we join your regular rehearsals, reviewing and adjusting the AR directly in the live camera image with you.

Ready for the live cut.

We deliver the camera image with AR already composited to the OB truck. The vision mixer can cut it into the programme just like any other camera feed.

Tested in live broadcast.

We have been testing and using live augmented reality across different shows since 2020, refining the workflow through rehearsals and live broadcasts.

Content Design

Creative direction and large-scale content for live shows. We develop the visual concept and create content for LED stages and realtime graphics.

Creative Direction

We develop the visual concept around the artist, the music and the production. Together with the stage and lighting designers, we shape how the imagery works across the stage.

Show Content

We design and animate large-scale visuals for LED screens, tailored to the production’s LED layout, screen formats and show sequence.

Realtime Content

We develop realtime visuals in Notch and adjust them during rehearsals together with the production team.

Making it work on stage

We combine creative direction, motion design and realtime development with the technical knowledge to make the visuals work on stage — across LED screens, camera feeds and playback systems.

IMAG FX

Live camera effects made with Notch. We design realtime looks for the camera feeds on your show’s LED screens, shaped around the artist, the music and the stage.

Live camera, designed for the show

We develop the visual treatment of the live camera image together with the creative team. The effects become part of the show’s visual design.

Adjusted in rehearsals

We review the effects on the live camera feed and adjust the looks in Notch together with the production team during rehearsals.

Installations

Immersive installations for brands, places and public spaces. We bring visual content, lighting and sound together in spatial installations. For brands, agencies, festivals and cities — from the first concept through technical planning to installation on site.

Creative Direction

We develop the spatial concept and define how imagery, light and sound work together.

Visuals, Light & Sound

We design the visual content, lighting and sound as connected parts of the installation, shaped around the space and how people move through it.

Planning & Implementation

We plan the technical systems and coordinate installation and commissioning on site.

The Realtime Studio · EUREF Campus, Düsseldorf

Shape the show before you arrive on site.

A shared place for visual development, digital rehearsals and preprogramming. Explore the idea, then prepare the agreed elements for production.

01 · The shift

Make room for creative decisions. Before rehearsals.

Bring the creative and technical teams into the same view. In Unreal Engine, we develop and review the agreed elements of your production. Start with an idea, or bring an existing showfile and stage model. Together we establish what can be explored and prepared reliably.

Visual development

See and develop imagery, stage, light and video together. For first concepts and creative decisions with artists, designers and production teams.

Digital rehearsals & preprogramming

Check existing show data, prepare agreed sequences and work on cues together. Your data and goals determine what can be moved into the studio.

02 · What we explore, in realtime

Every part of the show — before the show exists.

Static view — the interactive scene needs WebGL.

  • Lighting Lighting ideas and cue moves, seen in context — while changing them is still cheap.
  • Camera Camera positions and framings, tried long before the first rig day.
  • LED & visuals Screen content on the actual surfaces — scale, brightness and timing judged in place.
  • Timing One timeline for every department — cues align before anyone is on site.
03 · Why it changes the outcome
01
Fewer surprises on site
Review critical design questions before load-in. Technical checks and rehearsals on the actual stage remain part of the production.
02
Decisions made earlier, together
Creative, lighting, video and technical teams align in one room, months ahead.
03
A higher creative ceiling
When ideas are cheap to test, the bolder ones survive.
04
Less friction between departments
Everyone sees the same thing at the same time. Fewer translations, fewer misunderstandings.
05 · How it's built

Built on Unreal Engine — visualized in realtime, refined live, in the room with you.

02 · Where we're heading

The future of live entertainment is collaborative, realtime and iterative.

Our direction is a coherent visual world across stage, light and video. Content and realtime design remain our foundation; specialist partners expand what we can shape together. The Realtime Studio supports this development through shared design reviews and preparation for rehearsals.

As AI changes how we create, we believe human exchange and celebrating together become even more important. Whether we’re developing ideas together across borders or sharing a concert with thousands of others.
