Goldene Henne · Leipzig · 2026

Goldene Henne 2026.

We have worked on the Goldene Henne for MDR since 2020. We were back in Leipzig in 2026: Saskia Olma developed the creative direction in close collaboration with Uwe Heinemann, while our team handled augmented reality, content design and operating for the entire show. For Helene Fischer’s performance, we also took care of preprogramming in Unreal Engine.

01 · The full show

Creative direction in close collaboration.

This year’s edition began with plenty of moodboards and conversations with producer Uwe Heinemann, director Carsten Seibt and André Kabus, lead editor at MDR. Carsten’s team brought the content and cuts together in Live Edit, giving us a shared basis for discussing creative ideas. That way, everyone could keep up with what the other teams were working on.

02 · Working together

Working with each artist’s team.

Each artist’s team was closely involved in the show’s development. Coordinating the individual performances was a central part of our design process.

03 · Preprogramming

Additional preparation for Helene Fischer.

For Helene Fischer’s performance, we brought Jens Schreiber’s lighting design, the pyro effects by Elements Entertainment and our augmented reality together in our Realtime Studio. We built the previs in Unreal Engine, so we could see how these elements worked together before going on site. The film below shows that visualization.

04 · Team & broadcast

In the hall and on Das Erste.

We also took care of operating for the Goldene Henne. Enrico Walther was at the desk as video operator, Aleksei Shkurdov joined as server farmer, and Rajko Erdmann was responsible for AR tracking. Vlad Befus led AR and content design, while ICT supported the production as technical service provider.

For Jonas Taube, it was his first production with us and his debut as a motion designer on a large stage. Lilian Pimentel took care of the organisation — with so many artist teams involved and details to coordinate, there was plenty to do.

The exhibition hall was sold out on show night. Another 2.85 million people watched the Goldene Henne on Das Erste on 4 September 2026. The broadcast reached an audience share of 18.0%.
